Law Enforcement Request Policy

1. Introduction & Guiding Principles

This policy details the processes and legal guidelines that government agencies and law enforcement departments must follow when requesting records, account logs, or invitation details stored on DigiVite.in. We respect user privacy rights and will not disclose non-public personal information unless presented with valid legal process.

2. Required Legal Process

DigiVite will disclose user records or content only when compelled by valid legal process in accordance with Indian jurisdiction and applicable regulations:

  • Basic Account Records: Name, registration date, transaction timestamps, and email address may be disclosed upon receipt of a valid official written request issued under relevant procedural laws (e.g., Section 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure / Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita in India).
  • Invitation Details & Uploaded Files: Digital cards, customized text, photos, and guest RSVP entries will be disclosed only when compelled by a valid search warrant or court order from a competent Indian court.
  • Emergency Requests: If we have a good faith belief that there is an imminent threat of death or serious physical injury to any individual, we may disclose limited diagnostic records to assist emergency services.

3. Submission Guidelines

All legal requests must be issued on official government letterhead, signed by an authorized supervisor, and submitted directly to compliance@digivite.in. Requests must include:

  • The name of the requesting department and identification number of the law enforcement agent.
  • The email address or Display ID of the user account under investigation, or the specific invitation URL (e.g. https://digivite.in/invite/wedding-slug).
  • The specific categories of records sought and the legal basis for the request.

4. User Notification Policy

Unless legally prohibited by a court order or applicable statute, DigiVite's policy is to notify account owners when we receive legal requests for their data, providing them with an opportunity to challenge the disclosure in court.
